Buddy Bear Needs A Home
This is about a little cub named Buddy who lives in the forest with all his friends. He's fishing at the river, hunting, climbing trees etc. and all his forest friends are different (The fox has three brown legs, and one leg that's "red" which matches the spot on top of his "head" and the raccoon has only a ring around "one eye" and the Woodpecker has an extra long "beak", just like Mr. Fox, who has different feet, and the Deer has one flower growing out of his antler "Just look at my antler, there's a flower up there. It makes me look "special". It's always been there!" AND last but not least, Buddy Bear has a "twist" like a spiral, for his tail. It stays "Pointing straight UP" and "It won't go DOWN!" Anyway, they're all "laying around", when the crows fly over crying, and frightened, warning them. They "smell" something and it doesn't smell good. It's not a nice smell, doesn't belong in the woods." Of course, it's a forrest fire. They run, holding hands and carrying smaller ones on their backs, two birds are flying carrying their nest - bees are flying with flowers and they run for the river (where the beavers are) to get to the other side. They know they have to make new homes. "This just isn't right! We'll all build new homes! We'll work day and night!" Buddy has to make new den, birds set up nests, woodpeckers help squirrels make holes in trees because Winter is coming! The moral of this one is of course about "differences" and forest fires!
